The scenes after the full-time whistle at Rugby Park were a beautiful sight to see for Celtic fans.

No better than Neil McCann having a face like thunder, as his Kilmarnock side were downed by a Celtic side that just isn’t giving up.

All the talk was about the timing of Celtic’s goal against Kilmarnock and why there were 7 minutes of added time, as Julian Araujo wrote his name in lights.

McCann had a right moan about the stoppage time that was added, but even his good mate, Barry Ferguson, thinks he is just being ‘sour’ about it all.

Why have Celtic been able to score so many late goals this season?

Barry Ferguson questioned over Neil McCann’s comments after Celtic beat Kilmarnock

Ferguson worked alongside McCann last season when the duo took charge of Rangers to watch Celtic clinch another title under Brendan Rodgers.

Speaking on Go Radio, a Celtic fan confronted Ferguson on whether McCann is always this confused, and why he didn’t mention the Killie handball.

Either way, Ferguson thinks his former assistant was just ‘sour’ about the situation because of how his team lost the match.

Celtic fan: “Barry, you know Neil McCann quite well, don’t you?”

Ferguson: “Yes, I do.”

Celtic fan: “Has he always been quite baffed?”

Ferguson laughs and adds: “No, he’s just disappointed.”

Celtic fan: “I get that, Barry. But he’s quite happy to shout about the extra time, and all that. But he didn’t shout anything about the handball. I didn’t see him mention that after the game.”

Ferguson: “It happens after games. He is disappointed. He’s gone the full distance, near enough, with Celtic. Then you lose it in the last kick of the ball. I just think it was a sour one to take. That’s how I look at it.”

Will Celtic’s late show continue?

Perhaps in Europe, Celtic won’t be able to get away with it, and they will find that out against VfB Stuttgart in the Europa League.

But on the domestic scene, even though the Hoops have been poor this season, they still have a psychological edge over their opponents.

Celtic’s next five Premiership matches are going to be sandwiched between Europe and the Scottish Cup, but why not continue the late, late shows?
