Former Ross County man Richard Foster has told BBC Sportsound that Cameron Carter-Vickers and Callum McGregor are the only undroppable players at Celtic. The Bhoys picked up yet another win in the Scottish Premiership today as they beat the pundit’s old side 2-0 at Victoria Park.
Ange Postecoglou’s men were made to work hard for the win, with Jota opening the scoring right at the end of stoppage time in the first half with a penalty.
The Portuguese winger made no mistake from the spot and Alexandro Bernabei secured a vital three points in the final moments of the game with a raking strike from outside the box.

Celtic’s strength in depth proved to be key on the day as Bernabei made a huge impact from the bench. And Foster has heaped praise on the Hoops for building such a strong squad, but feels McGregor and Carter-Vickers are the only two players who need to start every single week.
Foster praises Carter-Vickers and McGregor
Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Foster raved about the squad that Postecoglou has built at Celtic Park.
“Celtic have competition in just about every position,” he said. “Where credit goes to Ange Postecoglou, is that he keeps the players who are not starting happy. Apart from Callum McGregor and possibly Cameron Carter-Vickers, I think you can change any of the others and standards don’t drop.”
Both McGregor and Carter-Vickers have been ever present in Postecoglou’s side this season when available for selection.
The Bhoys have some brilliant players at their disposal and Foster makes a great point that the level of quality Postecoglou can choose from on the bench is outstanding. But McGregor and Carter-Vickers are arguably the two key pillars of this Celtic team, in support of vibrant attackers such as Kyogo Furuhashi.
While Postecoglou can probably chop and change in other positions on the pitch, the duo provide a solid foundation that is worth staying consistent with, even through rotation. It’s the basis for all the success that’s been earned and the success potentially on the way this season.
