Celtic put in another substandard performance in the Scottish Premiership against Kilmarnock on Saturday at Parkhead.
Brendan Rodgers’ side found themselves in the ascendency during the mid-way point of the first half and took the lead on 32 minutes following a smart header from Kyogo Furuhashi.
Nevertheless, the Bhoys never looked entirely assured during proceedings and weren’t able to build on their lead, which led to the visitors gaining momentum in the second 45 minutes.
Unfortunately for Celtic, their Jekyll and Hyde nature came back to bite them, as Alexandro Bernabei lost David Watson at the back post in stoppage time, allowing him to divert home to grant the visitors a point.
Kilmarnock have now won twice, drawn once and lost once against the reigning league holders this term across all competitions and deserved a share of the spoils in Glasgow, truth be told.
In the context of the title race, Rodgers’ men could now find themselves trailing Rangers if they see off St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park this afternoon.
Despite being on an unbeaten streak that has extended to ten matches, the Bhoys have major issues that need to be addressed if they are serious about claiming the league trophy for the third year in succession.
Kheredine Idessane praises Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart
Very few players deserved pass marks during a lacklustre Celtic display against Kilmarnock; however, experienced goalkeeper Joe Hart saved his side from further humiliation by making five saves over the course of 90 minutes [Fotmob].
The former England international did have a couple of wayward moments during the affair, though he has made a positive contribution since the turn of the year.

BBC reporter Kheredine Idessane seemed to agree with this sentiment in his post-match assessment of Celtic’s draw with Kilmarnock.
Idessane wrote on BBC Sport: “Once again, a failure to punish their opponents when they were ahead came back to bite Celtic. Two great saves from Will Dennis kept Kilmarnock in this one but make no mistake, Killie were well worth their point.
“But for two terrific stops from Joe Hart, both from Liam Donnelly, the visitors might have been leaving with all the points and not just the one.”
It is hard to disagree with Idessanne’s evaluation of Hart, even if it will come as no consolation to a frustrated Parkhead support.
Celtic’s goalkeeper being among their best performers at home in a Scottish Premiership encounter is a sign of the times, which is worrying for all involved.
