Celtic’s game against Cluj might not be one of the Hoops’ most important of the season. The team have already qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League, and it could be a night for some squad players to shine.

For one player though, it could be a key game when it comes to regaining their place in the Celtic first-team. Boli Bolingoli has a real chance of starting his first game for the Hoops since the Betfred Cup semi-final at the start of November.

Bolingoli, who was Celtic’s first-choice left-back up until then, suffered an injury against Hibs, and has seen the likes of Jonny Hayes and Greg Taylor take his place in the side.

Now the player has a chance to show to Neil Lennon that he should be the first choice left-back for the foreseeable future.

That could be the reason why he is looking forward to playing in the game.

“Important for me”

“It’s important for me to get some minutes again after a few weeks injury. The game is going to be a nice one to give chances to other players who haven’t played and to show their qualities too” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.

While it might not be the most important game of Celtic’s season, it could well be an important game for Bolingoli. If he performs well against Cluj, he could be the Hoops’ first choice left-back up until the winter break.

You would back Bolingoli to succeed in his quest though. He has overcome an indifferent start to his Hoops career to become a key player when fit. That is why the game is important to Bolingoli. It is almost like the season is starting again for him. It looks like it is going to start against Cluj, and hopefully he turns in a good performance.
