Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been giving his reaction to an exciting 2-1 comeback win over Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.
Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kuhn delivered the goals on Celtic’s way to another three points after the home side took a shock lead through a first-half penalty.
The champions deserved their win but had to work hard for it, with Kuhn’s winning goal not arriving until the 87th minute.
Second-half substitutions added a real spark to what was a lacklustre performance up to that point.
Luke McCowan, James Forrest, Kyogo Furuhashi and Paulo Bernardo all came into the match to good effect. Rodgers focused on that quartet after the match.
Brendan Rodgers praises four Celtic players after beating Ross County
He told Sky Sports: “Second half, the guys coming into the game, Paulo and Luke, they were outstanding. They were flexible on the ball, they showed good movement.
“Kyogo came in and stretched the lines and Jamesy had quality. We had the means to affect the game, and thankfully, that worked for us.”
The manager also had criticism for the first-half performance. While he was overall happy with the day’s work, he did have some pointed words for what he witnessed before the interval.

Celtic boss had criticism and praise after Ross County
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, Rodgers said: “First half there wasn’t a lot happening. We had a lot of the ball, but it was very slow and too passive, and there was no real tempo in it.
“We didn’t make enough runs and we just looked like we were wanting an easy game. That’s not what this team is about.
“We looked at it at half-time, pointed out a couple of little moments and in the second half, we were very, very good. Especially with the introduction of the players coming in, giving us that new energy in the game.
“There are no easy games. What I have to commend the players for is the mentality they showed in the second half to keep going. I’m really pleased for them.”
Celtic now enter an international break before facing Aberdeen at home and then Atalanta away immediately at the start of a new busy schedule.
