Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is celebrating yet another strong derby result against Rangers after watching his side storm to a 3-0 victory on Sunday.
Daizen Maeda got the scoring underway after knocking Alistair Johnston’s low cut-back home.
Then, Kyogo Furuhashi embarrassed Jack Butland with a long-range effort that caught the Rangers goalkeeper out to make it two before half-time.
Callum McGregor finished off the rout with an eye-catching long-range strike, his third goal of the season.
After the match, Rodgers was understandably delighted with what he witnessed at Celtic Park, delivering a glowing verdict on Sky Sports.
Celtic boss lauds his team after thrilling Sunday win
The Bhoys boss said: “Offensively I thought we were so exciting going forward. We got three goals. The goal that was disallowed was brilliantly worked and so, so tight.
“I thought the speed in our game, the way we attacked the space was exceptional. We maybe could have had a few more. We made it really difficult for the opposition and the crowd played their part today as well. Overall, a fantastic result and performance.

“Some of our play was absolutely outstanding. Once we got the first goal you could see everything grow and develop from there. We never want to rest on 2-0, we want to get three, four, five and it could’ve been that.
“There always has to be more. Our pressing has been really good and it was again today. There are other aspects we will analyse where will improve. It’s so early in the season and there’s a lot more growth to come.”
Brendan Rodgers’ incredible derby record
The Celtic manager has now taken charge of the Bhoys on 19 occasions and, incredibly, has lost just once.
There are 15 victories in the bag against Rangers in two spells at the clubs, with another three matches ending in draws.
He owns Glasgow. The truth is that he likely will until he decides that Scottish football is no longer for him. It’s dominance on an unprecedented scale and long may it continue.
