In the end, the changes didn’t matter as Celtic emphatically beat Aberdeen 5-1 in Rodgers’ biggest win ever at Pittodrie.
After the match, the Celtic manager had a message to the fans after what they did at full time after the Hoops destroyed the Pittodrie club.

The Celtic manager was asked about the scenes at full time where James Forrest uncharacteristically took centre stage and celebrated with the travelling Parkhead support.
Rodgers was over the moon and delivered a ‘big thank you’ to the Celtic supporters.
Rodgers told Celtic TV, “Absolutely and a big thank you to the supporters to come all the way up here for an 8:00pm kick-off and you’re not going to get back until the early hours of the morning.
“Some travel even longer to various places but they deserve it.
“They deserve it. They sacrificed as much as we have as a team and they get the reward tonight with a brilliant performance and result then also we can all celebrate, hopefully, with a win on Saturday and pick up the trophy.”
