Callum McGregor has suggested that he might need to take penalties for Celtic after dropping points against Motherwell on Saturday.
When there were four minutes left on the clock and David Turnbull converted from the spot, then Brendan Rodgers would have been breathing a sigh of relief.
Many inside Celtic Park would have been feeling that the team got away with one, only for Jon Obika’s stoppage-time equaliser to dampen the mood after a poorly dealt corner.
Many might look towards Joe Hart for that moment because he should have collected or punched the ball away.
But in truth, Celtic shot themselves in the foot well before then, including Luis Palma failing to score from the penalty spot in the first half.
That’s the third penalty the Bhoys have missed this season and Callum McGregor says it seems to be a ‘concentration’ problem and he might now need to step up, as he told The Herald Scotland.
Celtic’s penalty woes
“It’s getting to the stage where I might need to put my hand up, isn’t it?” said McGregor.
“It’s a really important part of the game and we’ve missed too many already.
“We’ve got some good penalty takers. David is a natural, Luis is good at set-plays and big Oh is also good. We’ve got the quality in there but it’s maybe a concentration thing.
“It’s something we have to look at, for sure. When games are tight, those are the things that can decide it for you.”

Opening the title door
The focus will be on the Champions League game and the trip to Italy, but Celtic are opening the title door here.
The team can only blame themselves because this Motherwell game should have been out of the water well before the hour mark.
The gap is nine points, with two games in hand for Rangers, who travel to Aberdeen on Sunday.
