Celtic have a title race on their hands.

In years gone by, Rangers would talk the talk before a ball was kicked, but Celtic would still ease to the Premiership title, just like they did last season under Brendan Rodgers.

Hearts spoke a lot in the summer, and to be fair to them, they are backing it up, led by their much-talked-about data analytics.

Yes, there is still a long way to go, and Wilfried Nancy’s side are still favourites for the title, but Hearts’ win over Celtic on Sunday is making those in Edinburgh believe.

Cammy Devlin praises Celtic’s midfield and Parkhead

Celtic changed their system under Nancy, but Cammy Devlin still came up against the usual suspects in Glasgow.

Nancy packed Celtic’s XI with a lot of attack-minded players, including Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, and Benjamin Nygren.

Devlin was very respectful towards what he came up against by telling Sky Sports, ‘they are top players and at Celtic for a reason.’

The Australian also lauded Celtic Park as a place to play his football by stating, ‘It’s great to play in such a great stadium.’

Even though Hearts beat Celtic, Devlin made sure to remain respectful and still understand just how good the Hoops are, despite their lack of ruthless nature during those opening 20 minutes.

“A really important win, obviously coming here, I have come here many times now and how hard it is,” said Devlin.

“You could see that watching the game. We defended so well. I think we deserved the win.

On how much did Devlin ‘enjoy’ the midfield battle: “Yeah, I did enjoy it. It was hard. At Tynecastle, when I spoke to you after, they are top players. They are at Celtic for a reason.

“They are top players. It’s great to play in such a great stadium. I enjoy every battle. You can see that the way I play.”
