Read More"Celtic are on another level"; Aberdeen opponent left in awe of Ange's Bhoys
Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie has been left in no doubt about how good Celtic are after the two teams met at Paradise on Saturday.
Ange Postecoglou’s Bhoys ran out 4-0 winners on the day thanks to goals from Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate and Liel Abada.
Shinnie, who returned to the Dons on loan from Wigan Athletic in January, couldn’t help but be impressed by what he witnessed.
Shinnie not used to teams of Celtic’s style
As quoted by his club’s official website, the midfielder said: “Celtic are on another level to the other teams in the division at the moment, especially at home.”
He continued [The Scotsman]: “The manager has them playing a different style of football to what I have been used to, going there, especially.
“They have inverted full-backs and try to make overloads in areas of the pitch. I thought they were very good. I played against Brendan Rodgers’ teams who were very dominant and very good, but I feel this Celtic side are very impressive.”
It’s not an assessment many Celtic fans will disagree with. From an Aberdeen perspective, it’s brutally honest.
Celtic were indeed excellent at the weekend with Hatate in particular running the show to the delight of the home support.
Right now, it’s an absolute joy to watch this team in full flow. They aren’t just winning matches but doing so with a panache that is exhilarating.
As we explained, the goals they are banging in are at a record-setting pace compared to the entire history of the football club. It simply doesn’t get better.
