For the third time this season, a Celtic away league fixture will not be shown by Sky Sports. As announced by the broadcaster, the Hoops’ trip to Hibernian on the 21st of November will not be live, instead the broadcasters are showing Rangers vs Aberdeen on the Sunday.

A long time since so many away games were not shown live

It is the third time this season that a Celtic away league game will not be shown on live television. It is probably a long time ago since the last time that happened.

The first game not to be televised was the trip to St Mirren. It was originally meant to be shown live but it was cancelled due to Boli Bolingoli’s trip to Spain. For some reason the re-scheduled match wasn’t shown live on Sky Sports.

The second game not to be shown was the trip to Ross County in September, and now it is the game against Hibernian.

Price for PPV likely to be £15

The game against Hibs should be live on Hibs TV on a pay per view basis. The price is likely to be £15, as it was when they faced Hamilton earlier this month.

Celtic fans already used PPV to watch the trips to St Mirren and Ross County. Now it looks like the same will happen for Easter Road.

That is a boost for Celtic non-season ticket holders, as they will be able to pay to watch the game, which they can’t do for Celtic games at home which aren’t shown on television. The club does not offer a pay per view option to non-season ticket holders.

It has to be said, it is a bit poor from Sky Sports not selecting a Celtic away game, especially when you consider that every Rangers away league game has been shown live on Sky Sports so far this season.

That is a bit unfair for Celtic fans who are subscribing to the channel. They will now likely have to pay extra to watch the game on pay per view.

To add insult to injury, now Rangers away games are being shown on the channel. They had a straight choice of fixture to pick, and snubbed Celtic, and it is a poor choice they have made.

In other news, David Moyes would like to see Celtic in any European Super League.
