Celtic’s match with Aberdeen on Saturday is arguably one of the most important the Hoops have left this season.
Three points for the Bhoys would maintain the lead at the top of the table. The lead currently sits at eight points, with second placed Rangers playing Hibernian on Friday night.
Must stop in-form striker
If the Hoops are to pick up the victory, the defence will have to get the better of in-form Dons striker Sam Cosgrove.
Cosgrove has been excellent for Derek McInnes’ side this season, scoring 18 goals. He is a physical player, and it is vital Dedryck Boyata is available for the Hoops.
Absence of defender would be a concern
The fact that Boyata was taken off towards the end of the Hoops’ 2-0 win over Hibernian is concerning. His physicality will be vital for the impending battle with Cosgrove.
Should Boyata fail to make the game, it would fall to Kristoffer Ajer to get the better of Cosgrove. He could fond the striker a handful to deal with.
The fact that Cosgrove is suspended for Aberdeen’s upcoming cup tie with Rangers means he will be even more up for the clash at Celtic Park.
He has already scored against the Hoops this season, so the team are well aware of the problems he can cause. Should the Hoops defence manage to stifle Cosgrove, they will go a long way towards picking up the three points.
