North Curve Celtic, the fan group representing supporters in their section of the stadium, have called on tonight’s crowd to create a thunderous atmosphere at Celtic Park tonight for the match against Jablonec.

Posting a new video to their Twitter account today of the ‘before times’, NC Celtic want their fellow fans in the stadium early to create a rousing reception for Ange Postecoglou and the team.

Clearly they want tonight to be a memorable occasion, as Celtic Park sells out minus sections of the Main Stand for the first time in well over a year.

Tonight will be many supporters’ first match in person since March 2020 or beyond.

It’s been an emotional, difficult year. But the return of mass crowds to football without social distancing signals that society is slowly returning to normal post-vaccination drive.

At the very least, it’s a significant boost for Celtic as a club and a team.

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear the squad is buzzing to play in front of a massive crowd. It will also be the Greek-Australian’s first experience of a proper European night at the famous stadium.

Speaking ahead of the game, he said, as quoted by The Glasgow Times: “The benefits for the team are significant. It will be my first time with that, but it will also be so significant for the boys who have been here a while. It will be a sharp contrast with what they went through last year with no supporters.

“We don’t need reminding that the supporters are the lifeblood of a football club – particularly this football club – and what they add to the arena and a game of football.

“I think they will all be excited –  even the Callum McGregors who have been here for so long.

“Walking out in front of 60,000 at Celtic Park on a European night, for all of us it will be a special occasion.”

It’s all set to be a brilliant night. Hopefully, the team can produce a performance to match.
