Celtic fans have moved to back and hail Timo Weah after his off-the-ball incident with Greg Taylor after today’s 1-0 win at Kilmarnock.

Pictures from Sky Sports at full-time showed Weah having a real go at Taylor. He was then pushed by Jordan Jones, and a quick flurry of players seemed to be getting in each other’s faces. The video has since been published on Twitter from a variety of different sources.

The scenes seemed to kick-off at full-time, after a late Scott Brown strike gave Celtic all three points at Kilmarnock.

And supporters have been quick to back Weah, who was booked for the altercation. Reacting to the flashpoint on Twitter, the Hoops fans couldn’t help but praise the USA international.

Weah’s passion continues to shine through

Regardless of his impact on the field today, Weah showed massive levels of desire to play for the jersey. It’s something he’s been doing ever since he signed on loan from PSG in January.

There’s still been no confirmation as to what set the altercation off. Despite some fans enjoying Weah’s jibe over Jones – it’s clear the young American was first seen in a verbal spat with Taylor.

Details on this will hopefully come out in the coming days, but this was a much-needed three points for Celtic.

The three points took them eight points clear at the top of the Premiership – the biggest margin of lead they’ve had so far this season.

Weah came on late in the second half to make an impact in the final third. He also came close to scoring after latching onto an Oliver Burke pass to clip the post of Daniel Bachmann’s goal.

But once again, the young striker showed he doesn’t particularly care who it is that nets for the Hoops. His love for the club continues to go beyond personal gain.

Fans love footballers that show the kind of passion Weah does. It’s clear from his early days at Parkhead so far that he’s going to be a lovable character for the Parkhead faithful.
