Celtic youngster Jeremie Frimpong was one of the Bhoys’ dynamite performers today as Neil Lennon’s team got the Scottish Premiership campaign off to the perfect start.

The defending champions thrashed Hamilton 5-1 behind closed doors at Celtic Park, with the match broadcasted successfully on the new ‘Pass to Paradise’ system for season ticket holders, as well as Sky Sports.

It looked to be a strange atmosphere inside Paradise but the starting eleven didn’t let that get to them, starting brightly and eventually wearing the opposition down to go ahead through Odsonne Edouard.

The electric Frenchman would end up scoring a hat-trick, but not before Frimpong managed to score his third goal in total for the club.

Substitute striker Patryk Klimala also opened his account in a competitive setting to round off the scoring.

Greg Taylor was the man who assisted teenage wing-back Frimpong, crossing superbly so he could slot home with ease.

The 2019 Lennon signing has really made the position his own over the last 12 months and despite being impressed by Hatem Abd Elhamed on occasion, I can’t deny that Frimpong deserves every minute he plays in a Celtic shirt.

His joy for playing and the smile on his face when he does well is infectious and ends up putting a huge grin on my face too.

Celtic fans everywhere should be excited about the progress he can make this season and the potential he holds.

He could well end up being one of our most valuable players by the end of the current campaign.

These supporters were absolutely delighted by his Sunday performance, taking to Twitter this evening to share their thoughts…
