Celtic loanee Timothy Weah’s time at the club has come to a premature end.

The player confirmed on his Instagram account that he had been picked for the under 20s World Cup for the United States.

As a result, manager Neil Lennon thought it would be for the best if he left the club now.

Best to leave club now

Interestingly, the player’s departure comes less than a week after he started in the 3-0 win over Aberdeen.

It has to be said that the Hoops may regret letting the player leave the club, not only now but in the future.

Could have played a part in upcoming games

The player could well have made an impact in the last three games of the season. He would have been a more than useful addition to the squad against both Rangers and Hearts.

If he goes on to have a great career in the game, it will prove to be a mistake to have let the player leave the club after less than six months.

Weah usually looked good when he played for the Hoops. His best performance was probably the 2-0 win over St Johnstone. He changed the game with an assist and a goal.

Judging from Weah’s comments on his Instagram, he loved being at Celtic. It is just unfortunate that he wasn’t given more of a chance. No doubt all at Celtic Park will wish him well in the future.
