Celtic planning ahead despite managerial uncertainty

Celtic might not yet know who is going to be managing the club next season. But that hasn’t stopped the Hoops from finalizing some pre-season plans.

As reported by Tagblatt, the Hoops are heading to Switzerland in July to play St Gallen on the 2nd of July.

What will really be interesting is who will be taking the Hoops on their pre-season games. We know that John Kennedy will most likely be there.

Will Lennon still be in charge?

Will interim boss Neil Lennon? That is the big question. Lennon’s future at the club will hopefully become clearer after this weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

Celtic are doing the right thing in forging ahead with the plans for next season though. The Champions League qualifiers will begin sooner than everyone expects and preparation must continue.

Pre-season schedule intrigues

It will be interesting to find out if the Hoops are involved in any other pre-season games towards the start of the Premiership season.

Perhaps the best idea would be to cut down the number of friendlies to around four at a minimum. That would give all the players a chance to at least play two games before the real games start.

Sooner rather than later we will find out who the Hoops next manager is and the next pre-season games are against. As ever, it is interesting times at Celtic Park.
