Celtic’s display against Ross County wasn’t the Hoops best of the season. At times the Scottish Champions looked a bit all over the place, as the Dingwall team created plenty of chances in the first-half.
However, the Hoops eventually made the breakthrough in the first-half thanks to a Callum McGregor penalty. The second-half was a similar struggle until substance Odsonne Edouard came on in the second-half and scored twice as Celtic ran out 3-0 winners.
Here are how the Celtic players rated as the Hoops moved five points clear at the top of the league:
Fraser Forster – 6
Was probably much busier than most people expected, and had to make a few decent saves in the game. Can’t have been impressed with how those in front of him played but Forster still manager to keep a clean sheet.
Moritz Bauer – 5
Didn’t exactly stand out as Jeremie Frimpong’s replacement. Did well enough getting forward but looked shaky at times at the back. He can play better, and he will have to as he is going to be the first-choice right-back for the time being.
Christopher Jullien – 6
Celtic’s best defender on the day. He was unfortunate not to score at the start of the game, but struggled at times like the rest of the Hoops defence did. Still, he came on to a game more, and he did well enough in the end.
Jozo Simunovic – 4
Struggled badly at times, as he didn’t defend very well as Ross County created a series of chances in the first-half. Perhaps playing three games in a row after such a long time out of the side has caught with him, may need to be rested for the St Johnstone game on Wednesday.
Jonny Hayes – 4

Similar to Simunovic, didn’t have the best of games at the back. In his defence, he did put in a couple of great crosses but to no takers. Will be interesting to see if he keeps his place in the side for the St Johnstone game in midweek.
Scott Brown – 6
Didn’t have the best of starts to the game – just like the rest of his teammates, but he eventually came on to a game in the second-half, to help the Hoops pick up the three points. He can play better, but all in all a decent enough display.
Olivier Ntcham – 5
Didn’t have the best of games, found it difficult to get into the game at times, as the Hoops struggled to get going. Wasn’t a surprise to see him substituted in the second-half, like so many others he can play better for the Hoops.
Callum McGregor – 7

Opened the scoring from the penalty spot, and contributed to the second goal as he took the corner. You can’t ask any more of that from a midfielder.
James Forrest – 7
Drifted in and out of the game at times, but was unlucky not to score in the first-half with a fine header that was well-saved. Set up Edouard for his second goal and played will in his comeback from injury.
Mikey Johnston – 7
Similar to Forrest in that he drifted out of the game at times, but look very dangerous on the ball and won the penalty which led to the Hoops’ opening goal. A good performance overall.
Leigh Griffiths – 6
Given a big vote of confidence by Neil Lennon as he was selected in-place of Edouard, but didn’t really get going in the game. Was unfortunate not to score an early goal, but had a quiet game otherwise.
Substitutes:
Odsonne Edouard – 8

There is nothing much more you can say about Edouard. He transformed the game in the second-half, with a two goal burst not long after coming on. His importance to the Celtic team can’t be underestimated.
Tom Rogic – n/a
Didn’t do enough in his time on the park.
Karamoko Dembele – n/a
A rare cameo for the teenager, which will be good for his career.
