Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed he doesn’t have any fresh injury concerns heading into tomorrow’s Scottish Cup Final.

That was the news emerging from his pre-match press conference on the official Celtic YouTube channel.

Pictures have also emerged from Lennoxtown showing some of the selection concerns training with the Celtic first-team.

Celtic return for Diego Laxalt?

The Uruguayan defender was missing from the starting eleven last week against Kilmarnock. Lennon confirmed he was struggling with a foot problem.

However, taking his place on the bench, it wasn’t thought to be serious.

Yesterday, he was spotted training alongside his teammates.

Greg Taylor was impressive against the Ayrshire outfit. However, the manager has shown pretty strong faith in Laxalt to date.

It’d be no surprise to see him come right back into the team.

Mikey Johnston as Celtic super sub?

Johnston has been missing for the entirety of the season so far but is finally closing in on regular first-team training.

He came off the bench during last week’s Kilmarnock match and, thankfully, doesn’t appear to have suffered any setbacks in his recovery.

It’s doubtful he’ll be thrown in from the start against Hearts. However, his attacking prowess makes him a pretty exciting option from the bench.

On a big Hampden pitch against tiring players, a second-half appearance could be golden.

He was spotted again in training on Friday. We can’t wait to see him in full-flight once again.

Griffiths’ Celtic role?

Leigh Griffiths hasn’t had any match action since the 1-1 draw with St Johnstone. He seems to have again slipped down the Celtic pecking order, with Patryk Klimala preferred against Lille.

However, with Odsonne Edouard not quite at his peak, Lennon needs reliable goalscorers on the bench. We need firepower on the park in the second half if things aren’t going to plan at Hampden.

Klimala was pretty good against the French side, but he doesn’t have the goalscoring pedigree that Griffiths has.

Pleasing to see him involved in training yesterday then.

Let’s hope he at least has enough fitness to make the matchday squad.
