Celtic travel to face Ross County in the Scottish Premiership, and plenty of anticipation is building with the lunchtime clash soon to kick off.
Brendan Rodgers has plenty of decisions to make on his line-up in the Highlands, not least pertaining to the Bhoys’ mounting injury problems in the wide areas.
Speaking yesterday, the Irishman noted Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda were doubtful to face Ross County, adding to the news that James Forrest is still sidelined for weeks after the Premier Sports Cup final.
Luis Palma didn’t travel due to a bereavement, leaving the Bhoys searching for wingers to prop up the matchday squad. Rather than rotation to keep fresh legs, the hectic schedule has impacted Celtic due to the absence of a winter break.
Now, Rodgers has named his line-up to face Ross County as his side aim to extend their Scottish Premiership lead to 18 points.

Brendan Rodgers names Celtic starting XI to face Ross County
Revealing the extent of Celtic’s injury issues, Rodgers has named his starting line-up to face Ross County, and there are some notable inclusions for supporters to get their teeth into.
Without a doubt, the most eye-catching selection is Kyogo Furuhashi’s introduction on the flank. Hyunjun Yang continues due to his availability on the other side and has another opportunity to impress.
- CELTIC STARTING XI: SCHMEICHEL, JOHNSTON, CARTER-VICKERS, TRUSTY, VALLE, MCGREGOR, HATATE, ENGELS, YANG, KYOGO, IDAH
- SUBS: SINISALO, KENNY, TAYLOR, SCALES, MCCOWAN, BERNARDO, MONTGOMERY, CUMMINGS, RALSTON
There are also spots for Alex Valle and Adam Idah, with Celtic keen to gain an early foothold against a Ross County side who have aspirations of claiming a top-six place in the Scottish Premiership.
The substitutes bench takes on an interesting composition for the Hoops today, as places for Johnny Kenny, Daniel Cummings and Adam Montgomery give it a youthful complexion.
Celtic fans react to Ross County starting line-up
Reacting to the line-up, one fan was intrigued to see how Furuhashi fared : “Kyogo LW should be interesting.”
Another touched on Idah and Furuhashi linking up together on the pitch, saying: “Have been wanting to see Kyogo & Idah to start and my wish come true.”
Changing the point of conversation, one supporter believes there is more than enough in the line-up to see off today’s opponents: “No excuses that’s still a strong 11 Bench isn’t great but the 11 starting should be enough to get us a few goals before we go to the bench. Mon the sellick.”
The inclusion of Cummings on the bench was a big talking point, with a final fan adding: “Would love to see Daniel Cummings getting the last 20 mins or so.”
