Celtic supporters have let loose at Jack Hendry
Celtic fans are incensed with Jack Hendry, after a poor display in Greece saw Celtic crash of the Champions League.
A 2-1 defeat to AEK on Tuesday night led to the Hoops dropping down into the Europa League playoff. Goals from Rodrigo Galo and Marko Livaja condemned Brendan Rodgers’ men to defeat. Scott Sinclair’s late consolation provided brief hope, but Celtic ultimately bowed out 3-2 on aggregate.
Subsequently, it’s now the first time the Hoops have failed to qualify for the Champions League under Rodgers.
Supporters have since taken to social media to scrutinise the defending.
Jack Hendry appears to be getting it in the neck most of all. The former Dundee defender never looked comfortable in Greece and has been struggling to convince fans of his quality.
Here’s the best of the fan reaction to Hendry’s performance:
Jack Hendry would be out his depth in a paddling pool.

@chris_sutton73 am I the only one that thinks jack hendry is a decent player, wins most balls in the air, his passing percentage is highest, great blocker at defending, think he gets it tight from fans

Reminder that Jack Hendry is 23 years old and not 18 like every excuse maker would have you believe

Jack Hendry is utter dross. Can't tackle, gets the ball stuck between his feet all the time, can't head, can't buy a win playing for us and couldn't get a game for third tier Wigan. Stellar work Celtic.

Not that it was totally his fault tonight but Jack Hendry has played 13 full games for Celtic (i.e. 90mins) we have won only 3, lost 4 and drawn 6. Not anywhere near good enough.

Celtic’s Champions League failure has cast a shadow over the club in the short-term. However, a Europa League playoff against either Suduva or Spartaks Jurmala now awaits after the knockout in Greece.
Much of the criticism over the last few days has been levied towards the board. Supporters are agitated at a lack of signings since the summer window began.
Therefore, a good result when Celtic travel to Partick Thistle on Saturday would certainly be ideal.
