Ange Postecoglou has named his Celtic team to face AZ Alkmaar in their Europa League playoff first-leg tonight, as per the official UEFA website.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, Ralston, Welsh, Starfelt, Taylor, McGregor, Turnbull, Forrest, Rogic, Abada, Furuhashi

Substitutes – Barkas, Bain, Bitton, Soro, McCarthy, Edouard, Ajeti, Urhoghide, Shaw, Robertson, Montgomery

Celtic have a golden opportunity to build up a lead heading into a tricky-looking away leg in the Netherlands next week.

However, AZ Alkmaar will provide the Hoops with their sternest test of the season. Despite morale-boosting wins over the likes of Hearts, Jablonec (x2), and Dundee respectively, the Eredivisie side will be a true test of our progress.

A new dawn beckons for Celtic in Europe, as Joe Hart shows his class once again

The big news coming into this one is the fact that Odsonne Edouard again finds himself dropped. Just like last week vs Jablonec. Instead, Liel Abada comes into the side with Kyogo Furuhashi appearing to take up a central role once more.

Elsewhere, it’s going to be a massive night for the Celtic back four. Postecoglou has stuck with Anthony Ralston and Greg Taylor as his full-backs, whilst Stephen Welsh and Carl Starfelt partner up at centre-back again.

Broadcast details

Tonight’s match is not on the Celtic Pass to Paradise system for season ticket holders as it isn’t a Premiership match.

The game won’t be shown live on Dutch TV either, something AZ weren’t happy about.

Yet the clash will be shown on six different channels in four different countries, which you can find the details for here.

Alternatively, live audio and text updates will be provided by BBC Scotland.

Fan reaction to Celtic team vs AZ Alkmaar

As expected, there is an excitement to tonight’s match with Celtic supporters expectant. As much of an improvement as Alkmaar undoubtedly are on what we’ve faced so far, we still have the attacking power to blow them away.

Fans have been left surprised with Edouard being dropped to the bench once again. Especially after his goal against Hearts on Sunday. But it’s hardly dented morale.

Tonight is arguably the biggest night of the Postecoglou era so far. Naturally then, Celtic fans are getting themselves pumped up for a big night. With no other major surprises in the starting line-up, fans are using the pre-match build-up to generate excitement.
