Manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team vs Hearts for today’s Scottish Premiership clash at Celtic Park.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, A Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, Turnbull, O’Riley, M Johnston, Kyogo, Palma.

Substitutes – Bain, Oh, Kwon, Bernabei, Bernardo, Maeda, Forrest, Ralston, Welsh.

After Celtic lost in the league away to Kilmarnock last weekend, the Bhoys must show their quality to deliver three points this afternoon.

There is little room for error in the league at the moment and the team must bank the points on a weekend that second-placed Rangers are not playing in the Premiership.

As expected, Rodgers has named a strong team for the encounter. There are two changes from the win over Feyenoord with Cameron Carter-Vickers returning from injury and David Turnbull replacing Tomoki Iwata.

Broadcast details

Today’s match is not officially being shown on television or streaming within the UK & Ireland.

However, it is being broadcast live to foreign subscribers on club service Celtic TV.

There are no other channels providing coverage globally.

BBC Radio Scotland will be providing live audio commentary over the airwaves and online.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs Hearts

It’s disappointing not to see Daizen Maeda back in the starting eleven after his period out injured. He’s been in training this week and his presence would have been a significant boost to the attack.

However, it’s understandable that the manager would want to bring him back gradually rather than rush him into the team to his detriment down the line.

Turnbull has presumably been selected because he offers more attacking threat than Paulo Bernardo. The Portuguese talent has been preferred in European action but the former Motherwell man has consistently gotten the nod in the Premiership.

Elsewhere, the team is pretty much as expected and it’s more than capable of picking up the win today. Time to deliver Bhoys.

In other news, £4m Celtic deal now ‘likely’ and it could hasten exit of fringe player.
