Manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team vs Rangers for today’s Scottish Premiership match at Ibrox.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, Johnston, Lagerbielke, Scales, Taylor, McGregor, Turnbull, O’Riley, Abada, Kyogo, Maeda.
Substitutes – Bain, Palma, Yang, Holm, Kobayashi, Oh, Kwon, Bernabei, Ralston.

This is a massive fixture, especially in the context of recent poor performances and results from the Bhoys. With no away fans cheering them on, a trip to Ibrox is a daunting prospect, but the team must find something in themselves to come away with a positive result.

Rodgers has made just one change from last weekend’s draw against St Johnstone with Liel Abada coming in for Hyunjun Yang.

There are no starting debuts for any of the new signings but Luis Palma is on the bench for the Bhoys and could make his bow in the second half.

Broadcast details

Today’s match is being shown on live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football in the UK & Ireland. Kick-off is at 12pm.

Celtic TV will also be providing live coverage to overseas subscribers to the club service.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs Rangers

It’ll be a disappointment for many fans not to see any of this week’s new signings in the team. Nat Phillips was ostensibly signed as emergency defensive cover but has clearly not been declared fit or ready enough to feature.

That may be understandable given the short amount of training time at Lennoxtown with his teammates, but it’s a disappointment nonetheless. He’d have surely been a better option than Liam Scales. Hopefully, the Irishman can prove doubters wrong.

Elsewhere, many may feel Hyunjun Yang was worth a start given his lively recent performances but Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda do have a track record against Rangers.

A big afternoon awaits us. The nerves are kicking in already.
