Despite already exiting the tournament, three points tonight would give the Bhoys something to play for on Matchday 6, with UEFA Europa League football still on the line.

It’d also send a message to our home supporters that Celtic can still pick up points in one of these groups, setting the Bhoys up for another shot at the competition next season.

The manager has made five changes to the team that faced Hearts on Saturday with the big news that Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis both start in the same attack.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs Shakhtar Donetsk

As expected, the manager has significantly rotated the weekend’s team with a full-strength defensive line in operation tonight based on current squad fitness.

It appears Kyogo will be playing out wide this evening, off the left flank, allowing Giakoumakis to provide a central striking threat. Sead Haksabanovic also adds real danger to the midfield, with Aaron Mooy sitting this one out on the bench.

With Liel Abada and Reo Hatate also in the team, and Matt O’Riley’s vision too. It’s impossible to think we won’t be creating chances this evening. Bring it on!
