Manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team vs St Johnstone for today’s Scottish Premiership clash in Perth.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, A Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Taylor, O’Riley, Turnbull, McGregor, Yang, Kyogo, Palma.

Substitutes – Bain, Ralston, Phillips, Tomoki, Oh, Holm, Bernardo, M Johnston, Forrest.

It’s a cold, brisk winter’s day at McDiarmid Park and Celtic have a mission to bounce back from a disappointing week at home and abroad.

St Johnstone may be 11th in the table but they won’t make it easy today and let’s not forget they’ve already taken points off the Bhoys this season.

The manager has made two changes to the team that lost in Rome with David Turnbull coming in for Paulo Bernardo and Luis Palma returning from suspension in place of James Forrest.

Broadcast details

Today’s match is live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event in the UK & Ireland.

Celtic TV will also be carrying live coverage to foreign subscribers of the club’s service.

The fixture is being broadcast on dozens of channels around the world, too, including beIN Sports 3 in Australia and Paramount+ in the United States. A full list of global channels can be found via LiveSoccerTV. BBC Radio Scotland will be providing audio commentary across their platforms.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs St Johnstone

This is the eleven that most would have predicted today. Turnbull coming in is little surprise given he has been preferred in Premiership games over Holm and Bernardo for a large chunk of the season.

The midfielder has his flaws but crucially carries a goal threat and that could be key up against a tight, compact defence.

Elsewhere, Palma is an obvious choice to replace Forrest. The Honduran has shown bursts of excellent form this season and everyone will be hoping he can be more productive than he was against Motherwell last weekend.

In other news, Chris Sutton has a “simple truth” for Celtic as he makes plea ahead of St Johnstone.
