Manager Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic team vs St Johnstone for today’s Scottish Premiership clash at Celtic Park.

The full match squad is as follows:

Starting XI – Hart, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Welsh, Taylor, Iwata, O’Riley, Bernardo, Kuhn, Maeda, Kyogo.

Substitutes – Bain, Lagerbielke, Idah, Holm, Oh, Vata, Kelly, Forrest, Ralston.

It’s an important weekend for Celtic. After losing to Hearts in their last league outing, Rodgers’ Bhoys know only victory is good enough today to maintain their title bid.

With Rangers not playing until Sunday and away from home, it’s a chance for Celtic to put a bit of pressure on the league leaders.

Rodgers has made two changes to last week’s team which faced Livingston. Cameron Carter-Vickers has returned from injury to replace Liam Scales while Kyogo Furuhashi lines up instead of Adam Idah.

Broadcast details

Today’s match is not being shown live on any channel within the UK & Ireland.

Only Celtic TV will be providing live coverage to global subscribers of the club streaming service, away from these shores.

BBC Radio Scotland will, however, be providing live audio commentary across their platforms over the air and online.

Instant verdict on Celtic team vs St Johnstone

This is exactly the team I was hoping to see from the manager today, as discussed this morning with our predicted eleven.

It’s important to try and capitalise on any confidence Kyogo gained from last week’s late goal. If he can become the attacking danger we know he can be, it’d be a big boost for the title run-in.

The Japanese star remains the club’s top scorer this season and we need him on top form.

The rest of the team almost picks itself right now because of injuries and hopefully, the stand-in choices can step up to show they are worthy of their starting positions.

Some may question the selection of Stephen Welsh over Gustaf Lagerbielke but Rodgers hasn’t fancied the Swede for much of the season.
