Celtic are on the road in Perth this afternoon looking to get back to winning ways after a defeat to RB Leipzig last time out. It’s an important match, with table rivals Rangers facing a very winnable match at home to St Mirren later today.

As you’d expect given the heavy schedule, Postecoglou has made a number of changes to today’s line-up with a total of six coming into the eleven from the mid-week fixture.

The big news is that Cameron Carter-Vickers has returned, with the manager also opting for an extra attacker on the field in place of Callum McGregor.

Broadcast details

Today’s fixture is live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK & Ireland.

Celtic TV are also carrying live coverage to subscribers away from these shores.

The McDiarmid Park game is also being shown on the SPFL’s world feed, meaning many broadcasters around the globe will be providing coverage. In Australia, viewers can watch on beIN Sports 2 while Americans can switch on Paramount+. A full list of global TV channels can be found on LiveSoccerTV.

BBC Radio Scotland are also providing live audio commentary across their platforms.

Instant reaction to Celtic team vs St Johnstone

It’s certainly a bold line-up today, and it’ll be interesting to see what the tactical switch looks like on the pitch. Is it a 4-4-2 today, or a 4-2-3-1? It certainly doesn’t appear to be the shape that the team would usually take with McGregor available, although we may be surprised with a deeper role for Reo Hatate or Matt O’Riley.

Carter-Vickers’ return is fantastic, of course, as is the trust he’s been given as captain. That’s a fine recognition of his importance to this squad on and off the field.

Elsewhere, there’ll be real intrigue about the performances of Alexandro Bernabei and Sead Haksabanovic, given they have not had many minutes in a Celtic shirt. It’s a big day for them too.

In other news, “It needs to change”; Matt O’Riley pinpoints Celtic issue.
