Celtic have the chance to take a five-point lead at the top of the table into the international break with a victory today. Avoiding defeat would also mean the Bhoys have gone a full calendar year without defeat in the league.

The manager has freshened things up throughout the starting eleven with Anthony Ralston, Stephen Welsh, Aaron Mooy, David Turnbull, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda all coming into the team.

There are absences for Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josip Juranovic, so we await news on their condition from the manager.

Broadcast details

Today’s fixture is live on Sky Sports Football in the UK & Ireland.

Celtic TV are also carrying coverage to subscribers of their worldwide service, away from these shores.

Instant reaction to Celtic team vs St Mirren

It’s good to see some rotation in the team after European exertions. I don’t think any of the players coming in really weaken what we’ll offer St Mirren today.

Mooy, in particular, deserves a midfield start after some composed showings off the bench and it’ll be good to see what he can offer from the start in a league match. Will we see Callum McGregor in a more advanced midfield role?

A front three of Abada, Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi should also cause the home side plenty of problems.

With the bench as strong as ever, we should have enough across the 90 minutes to win today and remind everyone why we’re top of the table.

In other news, St Mirren boss compares Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic to Brendan Rodgers’ Invincibles.
