Celtic find themselves facing a top-of-the-table clash this weekend and refreshingly, it doesn’t involve Rangers.

Our arch-rivals are third in the Scottish Premiership with high-flying Aberdeen in second and the only other team alongside Celtic to be unbeaten domestically this season.

Both sides sit on 21 points each but the Hoops have a great chance of pulling away from the Dons and opening up a three-point gap.

Celtic vs Aberdeen kick-off time

Celtic will play Aberdeen at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, October 18. Kick-off in Glasgow is at 3pm BST.

Is Celtic vs Aberdeen on TV?

Despite it being one of the biggest games of the campaign so far, Celtic vs Aberdeen won’t be broadcast live on TV by either Sky Sports or Premier Sports.

Premier Sports offered to beam the game live but Celtic ‘opted out’ of the company’s deal with the SPFL. Meanwhile, Sky Sports decided to show Kilmarnock vs Rangers on Sunday.

However, Celtic supporters living outside the UK and Ireland can watch the Aberdeen clash live on Celtic TV. You can also listen to the game live via BBC Sportsound radio commentary with coverage starting at 2pm BST.

For video highlights of the clash, you can watch Sportscene on BBC Scotland at 7:15pm on Saturday evening.

Celtic team & injury news

Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected to be back available for selection for Celtic in what is a big boost for Brendan Rodgers.

James Forrest had to pull out of the Scotland squad in midweek so he may not be ready to feature, while Greg Taylor had been suffering from a calf strain.

Referee & VAR

The officials for Celtic vs Aberdeen were confirmed by the SFA in midweek. The on-field referee will be Nick Walsh and he will be assisted by David Roome and Dougie Potter.

Greg Aitken will be the VAR while Jonathan Bell has been confirmed as his AVAR.
