Celtic vs Rangers at the end of the month is sure to be an intriguing clash, and fans have snapped up all available tickets already.
There’s still 26 days to go until Rangers pitch up at Parkhead. Hoops season ticket holders, however, have been racing to get their tickets before they were all snapped up.
The game has been labelled a sell-out on Celtic’s official ticket section on their website. The club’s Twitter account for ticketing has also confirmed it. This comes just a day after Celtic fans snapped up all available tickets for Aberdeen’s visit to Parkhead on Saturday.
It’s been a tale of mixed emotions for season ticket holders this morning, however. Speaking on Twitter, here’s a quick look at some of the reaction after the race to secure a ticket.

Some complaints and some excitement
As you can imagine, the Celtic website would’ve been mobbed this morning. It seems as though certain individuals have been sitting in long queues only to be turned away. Unfortunately, that can sometimes be the case for this fixture.
But once again the Celtic fans have responded emphatically. Neil Lennon is certainly getting the backing from the fans, and his first two home matches will now be sold out.
The game itself is of vital importance. At the very least, Celtic could go 11 points clear of Rangers with just seven games remaining. In other words, the league would pretty much be over. For that to be the case, of course, Celtic would need to overcome Aberdeen and Dundee, whilst Rangers would have to beat Hibernian and Kilmarnock before the Glasgow derby.
The match will also be the first meeting between Lennon and Steven Gerrard in a derby. The pair cancelled each other out whilst Lennon was at Hibs, with their two meetings ending in stalemates. Brendan Rodgers’ side put in a disgraceful performance in the 1-0 loss at Ibrox back in December. Since then, however, Celtic have recovered tremendously well.
A Celtic win and Lennon will surely be one big step closer to sealing the job on a permanent basis. Defeat, and it could be curtains for him even this early, regardless of whether he wins the league and cup. Such is the emotion of this fixture, that’s how fine the line could be between Lennon getting the job or not.
Supporters have responded emphatically. Now, it’s time for the team to repay that support.
