Celtic are relying on their three Bs to be brilliant if they are to stand any chance against Valencia in the Europa League.

Celtic’s backbone of Dedryck Boyata and Scott Brown must be backed up by Oliver Burke at Parkhead tonight.

These are Celtic’s three key players in the battle against Valencia. Each of the three Bs will have their own battle on the pitch that they must win.

Scott Brown

Let’s start with the captain. Brown is the heartbeat of this Celtic team and must lead by example against the Spaniards.

Brown has matured into a combative but skilful midfielder under Brendan Rodgers. He has been a standout for Celtic in Europe too in the last three years.

In a game where Celtic may not have much of the ball, Brown’s tenacity will be key. Celtic will need their captain to snuff out any danger in midfield and move the ball on to those who can play.

If Celtic are to get a positive result tonight, their captain must be among the best players on the park.

Dedryck Boyata

Boyata may be Celtic’s most important player under the disco lights at Parkhead.

The Belgian international is almost certainly off in the summer for pastures new. He can put himself in the shop window with a dominant display against Valencia.

If Celtic are to go through in the tie, ‘Valencia nil’ would almost certainly have to be part of the scoreline tonight.

Boyata and his back line can help achieve this. Boyata must be at his best. Commanding in the air and useful in possession.

The centre-half must keep it simple when on the ball. Like Brown, his job is to win the ball and give it to those who can play.

Oliver Burke

It would be a shock if Burke was not Celtic’s focal point in attack come kick off tonight.

His form since signing on loan from West Brom has been admirable for someone playing in a different position.

The winger-turned-striker has earned his shot under the lights at Celtic Park.

He’s already notched three times for his temporary employers. He can make himself a Celtic hero with a strong performance.

His pace will be key, but his link up play will be crucial for the Bhoys.

If he can hold it up and brings other into the game, Celtic will gain a foothold in the match.

Burke may not need to burst the net, but another goal wouldn’t go a miss.
