Chris Sutton has delivered his verdict on Celtic’s 2-1 Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts which clinched the ‘treble treble’. The Hoops struggled throughout the game, and fell behind to a Ryan Edwards goal.

However, two Odsonne Edouard goals won the cup for the Hoops. That sealed nine domestic trophies in a row for the Hoops, and Sutton was quick to comment on Twitter.

“If you know your history” he said, echoing a line from the Celtic song.

This current Celtic side certainly are history makers, as they have made history by winning nine domestic trophies in a row.

Even the great Celtic sides of the early 2000s that featured Sutton only managed to win one domestic treble.

Frenchman was the hero

The hero for the Hoops was undeniably Odsonne Edouard. He got the Hoops back into the game from the penalty spot.

His finish for the winning goal was superb. He ran through on goal and finish in emphatic style. The Hoops can now enjoy the ‘treble treble’, a feat that has never been achieved in Scottish football.

As Sutton and the rest of the Celtic support know, the club have some big decisions to make in the summer. The most important of course, being the identity of the club’s next manager.

However, that is story for another day. For the moment, the ‘treble treble’ celebrations is all Celtic fans should be thinking about.
