At least Celtic are winning on the field of play because that’s the only place the joy is coming from right now.

Yes, Celtic’s performances haven’t been great, but as Wilfried Nancy found out the hard way, the main task is to win, win, and win again.

It wasn’t pretty during Celtic’s 2-0 win over Auchinleck Talbot, but as per, the main topic of discussion after the game was the January transfer window.

Chris Sutton has been pretty vocal about the Hoops’ situation, and he knows and understands exactly how the supporters are feeling.

Chris Sutton on Celtic transfers after win over Auchinleck Talbot

Time is ticking for the Celtic board to get the job done this month, back O’Neill in the market, and try to defend the Premiership title as best as possible.

Speaking on BBC 606, Sutton told co-host Robbie Savage that ‘what I do know’ about Celtic’s transfer situation is the fact that fans are angry with what is going on.

The former striker claimed that there is ‘a lot of anger’ in Glasgow, as only one player has been signed this month, and that was a loan deal for Julian Araujo.

Robbie Savage: “On that, what a performance from Auchinleck Talbot.”

Sutton: “I didn’t see it. What I do know, and let’s hear from Celtic fans. There is a lot of anger up there about Celtic’s inability to sign players in January.

“Martin O’Neill going back. Celtic fans, let’s hear from you. Why haven’t the club signed a player yet?”

The Celtic players who are on very thin ice…

Many were hoping Celtic’s clash against Auchinleck Talbot would provide some of the fringe players with a chance to change their fortunes.

But that hasn’t been the case; in fact, you could argue it has made matters worse.

Don’t get it twisted, the Hoops are playing a sixth-tier side, so if you score a hat-trick, it doesn’t automatically mean you will now become a regular starter, and all is well.

But at the very least, bring some positivity to the table, and help yourself. Unfortunately, many of them didn’t do that, including Michel-Ange Balikwisha getting verbal pelters.
