One of the few interesting aspects of Celtic’s routine 2-0 win over St Mirren on Wednesday night was the performance of Christopher Jullien. Particularly, when it came to his performance in the opposition penalty box.

The centre-back missed a trio of great chances in the game. However, he has shown that he has not been affected by the missed chances. Indeed, he has taken to social media to poke fun at himself for his misses.

“Good win last night! Guess the nets aren’t always friendly with me. Let’s keep moving forward Celts #Welldone #hoopsupsideyourhead #stilldontknowwhathappenedonthe1rstheader” he said.

It is a good sign that Jullien’s confidence has not been knocked by the chances he missed in the game. To be fair, it shouldn’t be, as his first job is as a defender. He helped the Hoops to another clean sheet.

Could have scored more goals

It has to be said though, that he really could have scored far more goals for the Hoops than the two that he has scored so far.

He has been a threat for the Hoops from set pieces in almost every game he has played in for the club. However, he has yet to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. Once he is able to do that, the goals should come on a regular basis for the £7 million signing from Toulouse.

Still, he isn’t letting the missed chances get to him. Hopefully he can find the back of the net against Hibs in the Betfred Cup on Saturday. Chances are that he will get at least one good opportunity, he just has to take it.
