Christopher Jullien has taken to Twitter to celebrate today’s fantastic Celtic win over Rangers at Ibrox.

Goals from Odsonne Edouard and Jonny Hayes ensured the 2-0 victory that sends us three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

However, it was the performance of defenders like Jullien that really made supporters proud.

The Hoops have had to endure weeks of criticism aimed at a defence in the midst of a so-called crisis. However, the defensive line was, to a man, superb against Steven Gerrard’s side, barely giving them a sniff at goal beyond the odd half chance.

Jullien can include himself as one of those top performers, winning almost every header and physically dominating the Gers attack.

Clearly he is delighted with the result and has taken to Twitter tell fans: “We owed you this one.”

Bouncing back

Likely referring to the UEFA Champions League exit to Cluj, it’s clear that the defender sees today’s result as a way for Neil Lennon’s team to rebuild a positive relationship with supporters.

It’s fair to say that the team have bounced back superbly from that loss. While it doesn’t feel any better a couple of weeks down the line, the Hoops have responded in exactly the right manner on and off the pitch.

We’ve won every match since and added some real quality to the squad in the transfer market.

We are now well placed to have another excellent domestic season and compete well in the UEFA Europa League.

Hopefully with players like Jullien up for the fight, Lennon brings even more success to the club.
