Celtic’s loan signing from Southampton Mohamed Elyounoussi made his debut for the Hoops in Saturday’s game against Hamilton.
The attacker made an immediate impact on the game. His cross into the box was finished by James Forrest to give the Hoops the lead after only four minutes.
Elyounoussi was involved in plenty of Celtic’s attacking play in the game. He roamed all over the pitch, linking up with the likes of Ryan Christie and Odsonne Edouard.
Impressive debut in difficult conditions

Elyounoussi’s display was even more impressive when you consider that the game was played on an artificial pitch and in a strong gale.
Elyounoussi lasted 66 minutes on his debut before he was replaced by Tom Rogic, in the game which the Hoops won 1-0.
His performance certainly impressed Celtic fans on social media. One fan went as far as to proclaim that the player could be Scotland’s player of the year.
Here are some of the best reactions to Elyounoussi’s debut performance for Celtic:

After such a good performance against Hamilton, Celtic fans will hope that Elyounoussi is involved in the Hoops’ next game, in the Europa League against Rennes.
May feature in upcoming Europa League clash

Perhaps a start from the bench could be more suited to the player in that particular game. The Hoops may consider stiffening up their midfield in that game. Therefore, it may be to Celtic’s benefit to introduce Elyounoussi in the second-half, to hopefully run at a tiring defence.
After only one game, Elyounoussi has shown that he could contribute plenty to Celtic’s season. Should his good performances continue, fans will hope that there is a way to turn his loan deal into a permanent one.
