Celtic begun their defence of the league title in style on the day that the league flag was unfurled. The Hoops were comfortable 7-0 winners over St Johnstone.
One of the most notable aspects of the day was the debut of Hoops right-back Hatem Abd Elhamed. The recent arrival from Hapoel Be’er Sheva looked composed in his debut for the Hoops.
Eager to get forward
He was comfortable in defence, and was eager to get forward. His pace was also a notable feature. Some Celtic fans on social media were impressed with Elhamed’s performance.

To be fair, it was a stroll for Elhamed. St Johnstone came into the game in poor form, and didn’t offer much of a threat to the Hoops.
However, Elhamed can still be pleased with his performance. Even though he didn’t often play as a right-back for Be’er Sheva, he did well on the day for the Hoops.
Only issue on the day
The only issue on the day is that the player went off in the 50th minute with a slight injury. It would be a real blow for the Hoops if he was to miss the Champions League qualifier against Cluj on Wednesday.
However, despite having to go off early, Elhamed can be satisfied with his Celtic debut.
