Celtic can’t seem to catch a break with injuries at the moment. The latest player to be injured is Mikey Johnston. The Hoops winger pulled out of the Scotland under-21 side with an undisclosed injury.
Johnston’s injury is a blow for the player, who has been in excellent form this season. However, the injury could perhaps hand an opportunity to another Celtic player.
That player is Scott Sinclair. Sinclair has rarely been used by Neil Lennon this season. In fact, he has made only four appearances for the Hoops this season. He has played only 11 minutes of league football so far, which is a remarkable statistic.
Not part of squad recently

In recent weeks he hasn’t even made the squad for games. For example, he wasn’t part of the team which recently won at Ibrox, a place where Sinclair has thrived in the past.
The way Sinclair has been left out of the squad completely is a bit of a surprise, when you consider how good a player he has been for the Hoops in the last three seasons.
A great scoring record

He has scored 61 goals in that time, a great record for a player who is not a striker. At the present time, he looks to be far away from a first-team place.
That could have changed though, with Johnston’s unfortunate injury. Sinclair could be the ideal replacement for Johnston on the wing. A good performance in the Hoops’ next league game against Hamilton could lead to Sinclair perhaps being involved on a regular basis for Celtic this season.
However, should Sinclair not even make the squad for Hamilton then his future at the club looks quite bleak. It is not often that a Celtic game against Hamilton could be make or break for a player’s career. However, that may well be the case for Scott Sinclair and his time at Celtic.
