Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon has picked up a knee injury. The veteran was missing from the squad that drew 0-0 with Aberdeen, and Neil Lennon has disclosed the reason why.
“He had a bit of a knee problem. He had an injection in it and it hasn’t really settled” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“When he has been playing he has been able to rest, but the fact that he hasn’t been playing he has been training a lot more and it has just flared up an old problem.”

A bit of a concern
The fact that Gordon picked up the injury by over training is a bit of a concern. The Hoops goalkeeper must have been desperate to impress Lennon in training.

But now that has backfired, and the player will be missing for a period of time. Gordon must learn a lesson from the incident.
Future in doubt

He must train normally, and not try to overextend himself, especially as his career seems to be winding down. Will Gordon ever play for Celtic again? Who can say. If Scott Bain picked up an injury against Dundee, Dorus De Vries would replace him.
That would be a real blow for Gordon, if he loses his chance of a return to the team due to an unexpected victory.
Whilst most people are focusing on who will be Celtic’s next manager, Gordon’s future at the club will be an interesting subplot of the summer.
