Hearts boss Craig Levein has told Celtic that they will come up against Uhce Ikpeazu in the Scottish Cup Final.

He has disclosed that he may even keep Ikpeazu out of his Hearts team until the cup final if need be.

“The plan would be that hopefully he plays in the first Celtic game” he told the press at the Oriam sports performance centre in Riccarton.

The Hearts boss also disclosed at the press conference that Peter Haring may also be rested until the final.

Ikpeazu is the player that the Hoops will have to be most wary of on cup final day.

Style of play causes problems

He might not have scored a lot of goals this season. He only has eight so far. But his combative style of play has caused teams plenty of problems this season.

Thankfully for the Hoops, defence has been one of the strong points for the club this season. The centre-back pairing of Jozo SImunovic and Kristoffer Ajer have been in great form recently.

The duo will certainly have their hands full with the Hearts hitman at Hampden Park. He is probably Hearts’ best hope of a goal on the day. Therefore, Neil Lennon will have to have his defenders well-drilled ahead of the clash.

Should the Hoops keep Ikpeazu quiet, the cup could well be returning to Celtic Park.
