It’s tempting not to build too much hype over the two recent performances from Celtic midfield David Turnbull, but why not let ourselves get a bit excited?
That’s my view anyway.
The former Motherwell man hasn’t been seen often this season. His appearance today was just his third start for the club.
He’s really transformed the tempo and intensity of the Bhoys, again performing well against Kilmarnock after a big display vs Lille on Thursday night.
Added to that, he provides a threat at set-pieces that now has us scoring goals from corners, what a novelty!
Given some of the awful football we’ve had to watch of late, it’s so refreshing to see a player arrive in the starting eleven with hunger and ambition.
Having now won twice in a row, Neil Lennon and his team can look confidently ahead to next Sunday’s Scottish Cup Final against Hearts at Hampden.
A quadruple treble is within our grasp.
Turnbull has surely done enough to warrant a start in that final?
It seems unthinkable that he wouldn’t keep his place in the team, even with regulars such as Ryan Christie, Scott Brown and Tom Rogic in the hunt for sport in the lineup.
These fans will likely want him in the team, taking to Twitter today to share their thoughts on his performance…
