Former Celtic manager Davie Hay has identified what he believes would be the perfect tribute to the recently duo of Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers.
Hay believes that winning more trophies would be the perfect way for the current Celtic side to pay tribute to the legends.
“But the best way for the players to pay tribute to Billy and Stevie is to carry on winning games and trophies and to try to emulate the standards which they attained” he told the Evening Times.

“Fitting way to remember”
“It would be a fitting way to remember them – maintaining their winning philosophy.”

The Hoops have the chance to win two more trophies before the end of the season.
They require only one more point to win their eighth league title in a row. They are also in the Scottish Cup Final.
Chance to better club legends
Chalmers and McNeill won countless trophies whilst at Celtic, and the current squad have the chance to emulate that.

Of course, the current Celtic side have the chance to win their third domestic treble in a row this season. Not even the great sides of McNeill and Chalmers managed that.
It has been an emotional last few weeks at Celtic with the deaths of two of the club’s biggest legends.
It would be the perfect tribute to both if Celtic put on a show worthy of the duo when clinching the league at Pittodrie on Saturday.
