Celtic’s record in domestic cup competitions over the last three seasons has been nothing short of remarkable. They have won the last six cup competitions. The Hoops are currently on a 29 game unbeaten run in domestic cup ties.
The Hoops have a chance to make it 30 wins on the spin when they take on Hibs in the Betfred Cup semi-final at Hampden Park on Saturday.
Former Celtic great Davie Hay can see only one outcome in the game – a Celtic victory.
“The prospect of 30 wins in cups on the bounce is quite something, it takes your breath away really and I can’t see another team matching it in the future” he said, writing in his column in the Evening Times.
“Can’t see anything else”

“I can’t see anything else than that phenomenal run continuing today.”
It is no surprise to see Hay tip the Hoops for victory. For a start, there is the aforementioned record in cup competitions that the Hoops will be looking to continue.
Hibs’ poor run of form has to also be taken into consideration. They are struggling badly at the wrong end of the Premiership table. If Celtic play to the best of their ability, then it should be a comfortable win for the Hoops.
Key man could miss out on fixture

However, it should be remembered that the Hoops were held to a 1-1 draw by the Easter Road side in September. Hoops captain Scott Brown could miss the game as well, which would be a blow.
Neil Lennon will not be taking victory for granted. He will know that the Hoops will have to work very hard to pick up the victory.
However, should the Hoops play as well as they have been in recent weeks then they should be strong to defeat Hibs.
