Wednesday was certainly a night to forget for Dundee at Celtic Park. From broken-down buses to a first-half humiliation and eventual 7-1 defeat, the trip to Glasgow couldn’t have gone much worse.
For Celtic and Celtic supporters it was a much-needed and cathartic 90 minutes. After plenty of toils and troubles this term, it was fantastic to see the team galvanised and showing a ruthless edge in pursuit of goals.
Adam Idah is making a big impact, Cameron Carter-Vickers has returned from injury and, suddenly, this group of players look very ready to compete in the Scottish Premiership title run-in.
Dundee defender Ricki Lamie has now shared that the Dees dressing room was desolate after the match and that there is a feeling of embarrassment amongst the group.
Lamie said when asked about the post-match mood [The Courier]: “Sombre. Listen, you would be asking questions if it doesn’t hurt you as a professional. It hurt me. As a defender, it’s embarrassing to concede that many goals.
“Plenty of teams have gone there and conceded heavily or been dominated from the first whistle. Not every team can bounce back straight after.”
The Dens Park side are actually having a pretty good campaign considering they were the promoted side into the top flight.

They are currently in a top six position ahead of clubs with bigger support and budgets in Aberdeen and Hibernian.
The chances are they will find the juice to bounce back from a damaging evening.
From a Celtic perspective, too many teams have left Glasgow this season in good spirits. It’s felt as if Celtic Park was no longer a place Scottish Premiership sides feared.
Hopefully this statement of intent changes that and the Bhoys can now harness the advantage of home surroundings more effectively. It would be good if there was more embarrassment in the away dressing over the coming weeks.
