Former Celtic player Didier Agathe wants to see the Hoops appoint Neil Lennon as their next permanent manager.
The duo won a host of trophies during Martin O’Neill’s time as Celtic manager. And now Agathe has called for interim Hoops boss Lennon to be given the job full-time.

“Neil Lennon is the perfect manager to take over and lead Celtic” Agathe told The Scottish Sun.
“A long contract”
“I expect them to be champions again, and when that happens I hope the Celtic board give Lenny a long contract.”
Lennon’s chance of being named the Hoops boss for next season and beyond could partly depend on his results against Rangers.

He takes charge of his first Glasgow derby since 2012 on Sunday. Agathe thinks Lennon can lead the Hoops to victory.
“Inspire the players”
“He will inspire the players. They will be well-prepared and they will be motivated.”

So far Lennon is unbeaten as Hoops interim boss since taking over from Brendan Rodgers.
It would not look good for him if his first defeat came in the Glasgow derby. The league might be all but over, but the game itself could help to define Lennon’s future at Celtic.
A big win would see the calls for his appointment grow loud. Whilst a defeat would leave Lennon in a difficult situation.
Agathe has plenty of confidence in Lennon though, perhaps this optimism will prove to be correct.
