Celtic fans got a real look at their new signing, Julian Araujo, against Dundee United on Saturday.
It has been some week for Araujo because he joined Celtic under Wilfried Nancy, made his debut against Rangers, and then made his first start under Martin O’Neill.
It probably sums up the crazy nature of Celtic’s season, as they secured all three points against Dundee United, including a much-needed clean sheet.
Araujo lasted just over an hour, and he then took to social media to send a message to the Celtic Park faithful.

Who is Celtic’s Man of the Match vs Dundee United?

Julian Araujo reacts on social media to Celtic’s win over Dundee United
Araujo joins Celtic from Bournemouth on a loan deal until the end of the season, and a few of his teammates across the footballing world were delighted for him.
From Bournemouth to the Mexico national team, this is what some of them posted in the comments section of his social media account after the win over Dundee United.
- Bournemouth’s Evanilson: ‘Come on, bro.’
- Bournemouth’s Senesi: ‘Come on.’
- Mexico international Edson Alvarez: ‘🧠🔥’
‘Great team effort,’ wrote Araujo on Instagram. ‘We keep going. Let’s go, team!’
How much responsibility should the players take for Nancy’s tenure, given how quickly they seem to have turned it around with Dundee win?
Who starts at right-back for Celtic?
Araujo was signed to play as a right-sided wing-back, or a right-sided centre-back in a back three, for Nancy.
But Nancy was thankfully booted out of the building before he could make matters worse for Celtic.
However, now that the champions of Scotland are back in safe hands, who starts at right-back, and does the new kid on the block sign permanently if he has a strong loan spell?
As of this moment, these are Celtic’s right-back options:
- Araujo (loan ends at the end of the season)
- Alistair Johnston (long-term injury)
- Colby Donovan
- Anthony Ralston
