Fantastic footage emerges after Celtic win over Dundee United; Ange gets it
After Celtic’s 3-0 win over Dundee United today, the customary thing for the players and fans to do is applaud the travelling supporters.
Of course, they did, but Ange did it in some style. Particularly this week, he’s been backed to the hilt by supporters, who praise his blunt, no-nonsense approach to the Scottish media.
After the ridiculousness of Hearts’ squealing after Kyogo’s onside goal, Postecoglou was the one taking the brunt of the questioning.
So, in a way of showing respect back, Ange picked up a scarf thrown onto the pitch and held it up for the travelling Celtic fans.
A nice touch, given his existing rapport with the Hoops faithful.
Captured in perpetuity by Twitter user Lil Ze, you can see Ange thanking the fans in GIF form:
Absolutely lovely stuff there, we’re sure you’ll agree.
The Celtic boss promised from day one that he would protect the club against the slings and arrows of critics. Again, he’s had to do that this week, with claims that Celtic didn’t deserve to beat Hearts the other night.
There were no such questions today, however. Postecoglou’s Hoops side were absolutely dominant against Dundee United. In the sunshine of Tayside, Celtic had 70% of the possession, and had a ludicrous 26 shots on goal [WhoScored?].
The only dodgy decisions went against Celtic today. In the first half particularly, some questionable offsides were waved, while Callum Butcher ought to have seen red for an awful tackle.
“My manager”; Celtic fans are in love with Ange Postecoglou
Obviously – obviously – Celtic fans immediately filed this under “Things You Love to See”.
The connection between Ange and the supporters has been there from day one. When he spoke of his ambition for Celtic and the style he wanted to play, the sounds were encouraging. Seeing his vision in action, and hearing him speak, has only strengthened the bond.
So, of course, fans were going wild in reaction to this latest clip.
