Four things you may have missed from Celtic’s wild Kilmarnock celebrations

Celtic’s full-time celebrations against Kilmarnock were exactly what the club is all about.

It was night and day from the first half to the second, with Martin O’Neill’s men two behind at the half-time break.

When Julian Araujo stepped up to win the game, utter bedlam ensued in the away end, and the defender couldn’t resist joining in himself.

After the game, the team (and Araujo especially) were serenated by the travelling support, having taken yet another step closer to the summit of the Scottish Premiership.

We picked out some things you might’ve missed from the post-match celebrations.

Things you might have missed from Celtic’s post-match celebrations

Kasper Schmeichel embraces Julian Araujo

Kasper Schmeichel isn’t always at the forefront of Celtic’s celebrations, but he raced to the front of the line when the team approached the away end.

Why? To approach Araujo, whose winner had perhaps bailed the Danish goalkeeper from being one of the main points of blame for points being dropped.

Schmeichel didn’t cover himself in glory with his performance, not with how he dealt with Killie’s second goal, nor his distribution.

Fozzy right in amongst it

Mark Fotheringham has been a huge part of the feel-good atmosphere to Celtic’s current coaching staff under O’Neill.

He has become something of a cult hero for his enthusiastic character, which was evident when he pushed Araujo into the away end for the Ninetoes chant at the end of the game.

Not to mention, he’s also Celtic-daft, and capable of getting under Derek McInnes’ skin…

Araujo not the first to join the away fans

The Mexican wasn’t the only January signing to embrace the away fans immediately after the winning goal.

Tomas Cvancara, who played the ball which was deflected onto Araujo, immediately turned around and embraced a few fans on the other side of the goal to the full-back.

What better way for Celtic’s loan signings to get to know the club than to witness three last-minute wins in a row.

Would you make any changes to this combined Martin O’Neill Celtic XI?

Was anyone unfortunate enough to miss out?

Neil McCann’s cameo appearance

Prior to his post-match interviews, Neil McCann – or one of his coaches- made his own thoughts absolutely clear to the media.

He did this inadvertently, being heard by Sky Sports’ mics at the top of his voice when Araujo and Sebastian Tounekti were giving their thoughts after the game.

You can even hear banging from the dressing room, with the Killie staff clearly hurt by the manner of their defeat.
