Celtic are only a few days away from the start of their Champions League qualifiers against Sarajevo. They will need all of their biggest players available for what could be a tough away tie.

To that end, some recent comments made by new Hoops signing Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo will delight the Celtic support.

The left-back, who recently joined the club from Rapid Vienna, has revealed that he is fit and able to make his debut for the club against Sarajevo.

“I’m ready to play”

“I’m ready to play” he said, as reported by the Daily Record. “So let’s see in the next few days what can happen.”

“My training here starts on Friday, and we have a game on Tuesday. So I can say to the coach I am fit, I am ready, and he can take the decisions.”

A boost for Hoops

It would certainly be a boost for the Hoops if Mbombo can make his Hoops debut on Tuesday. With Kieran Tierney still injured, Jonny Hayes is the only left-back option available for the trip to Sarajevo.

He is not naturally a left-back, so it would be a gamble starting him in the game. That is not the case with Mbombo.

Should the player impress in training, there is no reason for him not to start against Sarajevo. It would be a gamble for sure, but if it helps the Hoops progress in qualifying it is a gamble worth taking.
